In a move that feels both reckless and inevitable, The Lego Group has announced a collector’s set based on the infamous rhino scene from Ace Ventura: When Nature Calls. Yes, the one where Jim Carrey slowly and aggressively exits the back of a mechanical rhino while the audience collectively questions everything.
The timing isn’t random. Just days ago, Ripley’s Believe It or Not! acquired the original animatronic rhino prop at auction for $59,850, officially upgrading the scene from “weird comedy moment” to “historical artifact no one asked to preserve.” Ripley’s says it plans to display it, which means somewhere, someone will absolutely take a photo standing behind it.
LEGO says the set is designed for adults, which feels less like a marketing choice and more like a warning. Early reactions have been split between “this is hilarious” and “why does this exist,” though that hasn’t stopped the presale from completely selling out within hours.
So yes, adults are on the fence. They’re confused. They’re uncomfortable. And they’ve already bought it.
