Hollywood – CA – The release and success of Deadpool has really changed the film industry. Other upcoming comic book films will now get the R-rating that they had wanted in the first place, but it’s not just these adapted films that are finding their way into the R-rating territory. Films such as The Divergent Series: Allegiant and the upcoming Thor sequel will now have the same rating as the Ryan Reynold’s blockbuster hit. and even Disney’s live-action adaption of The Little Mermaid will now have an R-rating.

Disney believes that this will be a great way to pull in a bigger audience. “It’s an edgy move, it really is,” CEO Bob Iger told us in a recent interview. “The Pirates of the Caribbean franchise saw a PG-13 rating, so we thought why not try to step it up a little more.”

The newest film in the live-action remake by Disney will be released in 2017 and will star Chloë Grace Moretz. Disney has decided to give the movie a harsher rating so they can really focus on the original story of the mermaid one that is extremely violent and disturbing.
