Los Angeles, CA – Andre Romelle Young, also know as Dr. Dre, spent this past weekend in the nursing home with his mother. He was called in by one of her caretakers and was told that his mother, Vera, had recently been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease.

It was on Friday night that Verna’s caretaker, Charlie Roberston, called Young in to tell him the news. “Over the past few weeks, we’ve seen quite a change in Vera.” Robertson told us. “It wasn’t long before we came to the conclusion that she was suffering from Alzheimer’s disease.” Robertson called in Young to sit him down and tell him the news. “I was scared to tell him,” Robertson recalled. “He’s in here every week to visit his mother and I knew how hard he would take the news.” Even worse, by the time Young arrived, Vera didn’t even remember him anymore.

Young plans on visiting the nursing home even more in hopes of helping Vera get better and start to remember him again. As busy as he is these days with producing music and rising to the top as one of the biggest musical entrepreneurs, Young believes that family comes first and he is going to do whatever it takes to make his mother feel complete again.
