Port Lincoln, South Australia – The summer is finally here. The air conditioners have been installed, boxes upon boxes of freeze pops have been purchased, and people have spent hours tanning by the pool. And of course, Shark Week has made it’s return to the Discovery Channel. This year promised to pack in even more entertainment and scares, and so far, it has done just that. This year, horror legend Eli Roth, is taking over for Josh Wolf and has even spent some of the time in the water with the feared oceanic creatures. While this is the week is so important to so many Americans, it is also an important week for the shark.

Every year, sharks from all over the world hope they can make it onto Shark Week. The camera crew behind the longest running series on Discovery Channel films year round trying to get the best footage for their gigantic fan base. Sharks from sea to sea come to the surface to try to get their 15 seconds of fame, but only few are lucky enough to do so. Robert Chadworth, a six foot tall great white who lives in southern Australia, was one of these lucky sharks this year.

The ten-year-old shark has missed the camera crew every year, but was destined to get on the special this year. A few months ago, the shark found out that the camera crew was coming his way and he got ready to be on camera. Although he was only in b-roll, it was more than enough for him.

Chadsworth says he hasn’t gotten much attention yet, but he thinks there is still plenty of time life.
